For the festival season, Amanda Kate is releasing a new Christmas medley titled “Timeless Joy, Oh Holy Night.” Amanda’s original “Timeless Joy” is perfectly meshed with the Christmas classic “Oh Holy Night.” In this TCB Premiere, get a first listen to the new track below.
“‘Timeless Joy’ is a song my mom wrote for me to sing when I was only 12-years-old. She loved writing special songs around Christmas time for our church performances. With this being her first Christmas in Heaven, I wanted to do this song to always remember her and in a way help me get through this tough season without her,” Amanda shares about the new release. “I had David Dorn replicate her playing and this arrangement from an old YouTube video that we did together. Although it’s not her hands playing the piano on this track I feel her with me on this song. I hope it blesses others this holiday season and people get to hold their families extra close this Christmas.”
Kate released new music earlier this year, including a cover of the classic hymn “The Old Rugged Cross.” Last year, Amanda dropped her debut album, Time, which was created together with her mother. After her mother was diagnosed with lung cancer, Amanda was overwhelmed with the importance of time and just how precious it is. The mother-daughter duo wrote each song together, making Time a physical body of work capturing the essence of their relationship. Now, her mother continues to inspire Amanda musically and professionally from Heaven.
