The Story Behind “OFFERING”
The song was written during one of the most painful moments of Sarah’s life following a 13-year journey of believing God for a child.
After years of waiting, failed IVF cycles, major surgery, prayer, and renewed hope, Sarah and her husband entered another IVF treatment cycle believing wholeheartedly they would finally receive the miracle they had long prayed for. But after successfully developing embryos, they received devastating news: all three embryos had arrested.
“It hadn’t even occurred to me that the cycle may not work,” Sarah shares. “I was numb. I couldn’t cry. I couldn’t pray. I didn’t even have words.”
The Sacrifice of Worship…. I Understand This Better Now – This Song Was My Psalm
Days later, during an early morning moment of fellowship with God, while kneeling in silence without the words to pray, the lyrics of Offering came spontaneously:
“Not much that I can bring
But I bring this offering…”
“This song was my psalm,” Sarah explains. “I wasn’t trying to write music. I was simply singing my pain, my surrender, and my desire to remain near to God even in heartbreak.”
Rooted in Psalm 34:18 — “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” — Offering creates a deeply reflective worship atmosphere that invites listeners to bring their grief, disappointment, and unanswered prayers before God honestly.
The song speaks to anyone who has ever worshipped through loss, heartbreak, waiting, or emotional exhaustion. Offering will be available on all major streaming platforms from 12th June 2026.
