‘Refuge – Live’ is the latest song to be released by Luke Wareham. The song is part of Luke’s new live EP (coming June 23rd ). ‘Refuge’ has been produced by Ollie Morris and is to be released on the 5th May. Luke has a passion for writing songs that speak into people’s everyday life situations. When speaking about the new live recording he says ‘our hope in recording these songs is that they will help people to fix their eyes on Jesus. The evening of worship where we recorded these songs was a special time where freedom was released in the room as we gazed at Jesus. As we recorded the songs from the beginning we had 2 Corinthians 4:18 in mind and it has really spoken to me this year. It says ‘So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever’.’
Lyrics:
Verse 1:
Your eyes are on the lowly
You never fail to hear
The cries of those who call
To you for mercy Lord
Your heart is with the humble
You never fail to save
Those who make your love
Their rock and hiding place
Chorus:
You are my refuge you are my
Hiding place my hiding place
You are my comfort you are my
Hope and grace my hope and grace
Verse 2:
Your arm is ‘round the broken
In weakness you are strong
You take our tears and sorrow
And pour out streams of love
Your word is ever speaking
Is ever giving life
You’re speaking to our darkness
And calling forth your light
Bridge:
No one who hopes in you
Will ever be put to shame
