Matt Redman Ft. Tasha Cobbs Leonard – Gracefully Broken
Matt Redman has been full of surprises lately. After unexpectedly revealing the cover and name to his new album Glory Song on Twitter last week, he has now released a suprise single featring Gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard (who also featured on his recent Christmas release too!).
Gracefully Broken is remarkably poignant. Usually, the leading single of a release is a bombastic affair, with epic choruses or technical wizardry. That is not to say the two aren’t present. Leading in with a rousing ‘here I am, God / arms wide open‘ in to the chorus, the song is in equal measure affecting and catchy. To begin with, the song is little more than a whisper. Simple chords and effects drift in and out, and then build up into an astounding crescendo before dropping into a passionate bridge in which Tasha Cobbs Leonard takes the lead.
For fans of the Gospel singer, another version of the song led by Cobbs can be heard here.
