Timothy Davis - On His Throne

Pastor and songwriter Timothy Davis is set to release a new single, “On His Throne,” to Christian AC-formatted radio outlets today. A video for Davis’ latest single is available on YouTube.

“If you need encouragement, listen to the lyrics of this song. In a world that seems full of darkness, this song was written to remind us that God is still in control,” says Davis.

“Many times, we think that in a day of compromise and abject rebellion of the truth we are left thinking everything is too far gone or is God still listening or taking note? It makes you feel helpless or feel like you can’t make a difference,” Davis shares.

“But one thing is for certain that God will never forsake His children or His Word. Just as the lyrics of this song say ‘Read it once again,’ we have to stand upon the Word of God for ‘the just shall live by faith and not by sight.’ What God has said in His Word will come to pass no matter what happens or what anyone says in opposition. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords!”

“On His Throne” follows two previous releases, “Run To You” and “The Cross.” “Run To You” was a Top 5 release, taking the No. 1 spot on CRC Weekly and hitting No. 5 on CRC Monthly. “The Cross” climbed to No. 2 on CRC Weeklyand hit No. 3 on CRC Monthly and No. 7 on CRC Quarterly.

Davis, an evangelist, worship leader, songwriter and musician, grew up in the small town of McComb, Mississippi. He was musically inclined as a child. In high school, he began writing songs with the goal of starting a heavy metal band. After graduating from high school, Davis, like many, was caught up in the cares, losses and responsibilities of life.

However, God had other things in mind when He placed a musician friend, a church family and a praying grandmother in his life that would lead to his salvation to Christ in August of 1990.

“It was kinda funny,” Davis recalls. “I was trying to recruit this guitarist friend of mine to join my band and he led me to the Lord instead.”

Davis set out to make a difference for the Kingdom of God, first by serving his local church in a variety of ways, including music ministry, signing in two gospel groups and songwriting. Three years later, Davis accepted God’s call to be more involved in music ministry with ministry engagements and concerts on his schedule.

Today as a minister and music evangelist, Davis says that he is committed to the call for revival and evangelism by the message in preaching and in song that leads people into the presence of God.
