Dallas-based singer, worship leader and multi-instrumentalist John Marc Kohl releases the official video for “Still (Live).” The recording, live from Dallas, TX, can be viewed below.
In addition, the emotive title-track showcases a Savior who never tires of pursuing His children. “’Still’ was one of the first songs I ever wrote about Jesus,” Kohl recalls. “I remember staying up until 3 am, crying and struggling through the writing of it. I was so angry with myself because of persistent sin in my life, and I felt like I deserved more punishment. I really couldn’t believe that Jesus would still love me after all the messes I’ve made; the wreckage of sin in my life; and the people I’ve hurt. I’ll never fully understand the persistence of His love for His beloved.”
John Marc Kohl is a veteran worship leader, songwriter, and multi-faceted musician dedicated to glorifying God through music. An artist in residence at The Worship Initiative, Kohl and his wife, Lila, reside in Dallas.
Lyrics:
Run and run and run
Is all I’ve ever done
But still Your grace is right beside me
Fight and fight and fight
Oh God You know I’ve tried
But I can’t tide these demons over
I don’t see how You can love me still
I don’t see how You can love me still
I don’t see how You can love me still
I don’t see how You can love me still
Run and run and run
You pursue in love
You won’t lose me when I wander
Fight and fight and fight
You gave Your son to die
For debt that I could never pay for
You threw my sin in the sea
My vices sunk in Your mercy deep
You carried my cross on calvary
You took the nails that were meant for me
With every breath You bore the pain
Of all my guilt, and all my shame
You paid my price on that day
You gave Your life, and took my grave
