Born Olubukunola Bekes to a family with rich music culture in Lagos, Nigeria, Bukola Bekes has grown to become a unique voice in the Gospel Music world. A seasoned worshipper with a heart sold out to worship, she has remained relevant for over decade and counting. Starting up in the choir of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Bukola grew to become a major force and vessel in the RCCG Mass Choir, not only leading but writing and composing theme songs for services and international conventions attended by thousands of worshippers from around the globe. From one of these conventions; The 2005 Holy Ghost Congress, she got the nickname “Olorikokoro” after penning and composing the theme song for the Congress. She is currently one of the Praise and Worship leaders at the RCCG City of David Parish in Victoria Island, Lagos.
She has ministered around the world and graced the stages of mega worship festivals like the Festival of Life held in London’s Excel Center in the UK. She has also been able to share the stage with so many heavyweights in the Gospel music industry; Brian Cage, Kirk Franklin, Ron Kennoly, Sammie Okposo, Mike Aremu etc.
Whether she sings in her native Yoruba or English, the unique voice of Bukola Bekes always stands out and she has been able to bless lives and render resounding songs of worship to God along with her band; The Paradise Minstrel. With a career spanning decades a slew of singles and four albums; I Am Tired Of The Valley, Ariwo Ayo, Mighty God and the latest Gbangba Gbangba, thousands of records sold and several thousands of streams on digital streaming platforms, Olubukunola Bekes is still one for the future and her light continues to shine brighter and brighter.
