Gospel Music Icon Asu Ekiye Announces End of 28-Year Marriage, Says Union Ended a Year Ago
Nigerian gospel singer Asu Ekiye has announced the end of his 28-year marriage to Kunemofa Asu.
In a public statement, Ekiye described the development as the conclusion of a deeply personal journey marked by growth, experience and reflection.
“Some chapters, however significant and memorable, eventually come to an end,” he wrote.
The gospel artiste explained that the marriage actually ended a year ago, but he deliberately waited before making the announcement to allow time for perspective, clarity and acceptance.
He added that he had chosen to close the chapter with grace, gratitude and dignity while looking ahead to a new season.
Ekiye did not disclose the circumstances surrounding the end of the marriage.
