Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the rock (Home for all) on his Sunday 25th February Sermon Speaks on the Necessity of Holy Communion for christians.
In his message he said:
“Communion is a lifestyle you should cultivate and not a one off thing. If you practice this on a regular basis you will see the enormous benefits manifest in your life”.
“It’s a lifestyle that guarantees that Satan cannot hold sin against you anymore. This means he cannot hold or torment you with sickness, lack, suffering, barrenness etc. You begin to walk in power, health and wonders”.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for you but victory. As you partake from the table of Christ regularly, your eyes will be opened to the riches and glory that abide in Him”.
In the Old Testament, an unblemished lamb received judgment in place of the sinner and this had to be done on a regular basis but in the New Testament Christ gave His life once and for all, securing you a permanent deliverance from the yoke of sin and sickness.
“You can’t come to the table of the Lord having the consciousness of sin. At the table, we eat our way to life, prosperity and good health. We celebrate and remember what He has already given us – one of which is the forgiveness of our sins.”
Read Corinthians 10:14-22:
Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.
Observe Israel after the flesh: Are not those who eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything? Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons. Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
Come assured that He has taken away your sins by sacrificing His life for you on the cross.
