KEY VERSE: “For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: Whosoever then first after the troubling of water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had” (John 5:4).
Opportunity is defined as a chance, particularly if it gives you some advantage or is favourable to you. Helen Keller said, “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.” This is a reason why opportunity is missed by many. Rita Colidge added that, “Too often, the opportunity knocks, but by the time you push back the chain, push back the bolt, unhook the locks and shut off the burglar alarm, it’s too late (Rita Colidge). Opportunity in biblical terms means: grace, mercy and favour.
Take advantage of the grace of God which is still available and beckoning on you to come to Christ today before it becomes too late. Esau had a great opportunity but missed it by selling his birthright because of food. He wept bitterly later but the opportunity had gone. Paul the apostle tells us that he did not frustrate the grace of God (opportunity) but judiciously used it to the glory of God. Use your opportunity now.
