UK-based worship music collective Orphan No More released the live video for “Thomas,” which can be viewed below. “Thomas” is from the group’s eight-song EP that released last week (Apr 2) Death Died.
“Thomas is an honest and reflective confession of faith and doubt. Written in the wake of loss and recorded during the height of lockdown and isolation, the song reaches out from the depths of the human experience into the scarred hands of divine love and acceptance,” The group shares about the track and video release.
An honest and contemplative confession of faith and doubt, Death Died is interwoven with the challenging and freeing narrative of the life of the Rabbi Jesus. Written in the wake of loss and recorded during the height of lockdown and isolation, the project reaches out from the depths of the human experience into the scarred hands of divine love and acceptance.
Lyrics:
[Verse 1] I’m sitting at the tableBut I’m convinced there’s not enough for me here
Waiting at the door
I don’t knock ’cause I fear that no one’s there [Pre-Chorus] Oh it’s hard to believe
When death is what I’ve see
Come again, Jesus please
Rip the veil, help me see [Chorus] Oh Jesus
Show me the holes in Your hands
The scar in Your side
So I know You’re alive
Oh Jesus
I’ve been doubting a bit
Just like Thomas did
Still You appeared to him
But I question even if You even care
Are You the God that’s with me?
Are You Immanuel? Are You there? [Pre-Chorus] Oh it’s hard to believe
When death is what I’ve see
Come again, Jesus please
Rip the veil, help me see [Chorus] Oh Jesus
Show me the holes in Your hands
The scar in Your side
So I know You’re alive
Oh Jesus
I’ve been doubting a bit
Just like Thomas did
Still You appeared to him
Show me the holes in Your hands
The scar in Your side
So I know You’re alive
Oh Jesus
I’ve been doubting a bit
Just like Thomas did
Still You appeared to him
Come near to me
Oh, fear can leave
I know You’re near to me
Appear to me
Come near to me
Oh, I believe, I believe
Be real to me
