Hennest, a rising Oklahoma City rapper just released “I Believe In” and he considers it his best work yet.
The song was released November 11, 2019 and is already said to be Hennest’s best sounding and in some ways, most insightful song to date. The main message portrayed in the single is how one’s worldview can and will affect every decision made, no matter how big or small.
While his previous single “Alone (feat. Insyde)” focused on the salvation and hope we receive through Christ, “I Believe In” attempts to layout in detail the rapper’s more opinionated beliefs. The fast-paced beat and gritty sound emphasizes some of the controversial and traditionally avoided points such as inflation, reverse racism, the world’s view of Christians, and more.
Similar to the intent behind “Moves” (his second studio single), Hennest seeks to connect deeper with his audience by intricately relaying what’s on his mind. “I Believe In” is designed to have a catchy, mainstream sound that encourages listeners to critically think about what it is they truly believe in and to challenge the cultural norms that are ever so subtly being forced on the public.
Hennest is reportedly working on an album that is tentatively scheduled to be released in the first half of 2020. It is safe to say that we can expect a lot more from the young Oklahoma City rapper in the near future.
