The Voice on Snapchat winner Jen Aldana set to release new single “Trust in You” on September 6th. With a hope to inspire and spread love, Aldana is bringing new eyes to the Boston music scene.
This single is the second off her upcoming EP since the Berklee graduate has returned to Boston as the winner of NBC’s The Voice on Snapchat, a social media extension of the live television show. The Season five winner battled against over 20 contestants and with the help of coach Noah Cyrus won the competition in late 2018. Aldana has taken the skill and expertise of industry leaders from the show and used it to help create her new sound.
“‘Trust in You’ is a song I wrote in a season of doubt. I was feeling lost in my career, had just gotten out of a relationship, and didn’t quite know where my life was headed. Everything I had put my hope in was seemingly falling apart. In my deepest pain, I wrote this song as a prayer, saying “whenever one door closes, there’s another one you’ll open, I’ll trust in You’ I hope this song reminds my listeners to keep going, even when things don’t go as planned.”
Aldana’s last single debuted on Boston’s Mix 104.1 with Matthew Reid, best known for sharing the city’s up-and-coming artists with the masses. During her interview with Matthew Reid discussed what the first single of the EP meant and part of her journey as an artist. Bringing along fellow Boston musician Danny Godwin as a producer, Jen is mixing her local connections with her elite training to make a name for herself.
Previously touring with American Idol’s Kris Allen and an opener for Kari Jobe, the indie artist is ready to add her name to list of Boston’s best. Aldana has already been seen on stage accompanying Bethel’s Sean Feucht, performed at SoulFest, New England’s biggest Christian music festival, and was featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday in May of this year.
Fans can expect more from Aldana in the coming months and can catch her at her next performance opening for David Leonard (formerly of All Sons & Daughters) on September 23rd at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA.
