GRAMMY nominee Matt Hammitt and family will appear on ‘Good Morning America‘ tomorrow morning (September 9). “Ten years ago, [George Stephanopoulos] shared the story of bringing baby Bowen home for the first time, after months in the hospital,” shared Hammitt on social media. He continues, “Tomorrow we will celebrate Bowen’s 10th birthday, and how far we’ve come, live on GMA!”
Hammitt’s 9-year-old son Bowen was born with a hole in his heart (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome) and on July 31st 2019, Bowen underwent his third open heart surgery. Bowen’s tragic health struggles have not held him back from pursuing his dream of writing and recording music.
Earlier this year, Bowen, with the help of his dad, who is the former frontman of Sanctus Real, recently released a heart-felt track title “Heart Strong,” which is being used by the Ethan M. Lindberg Foundation to help raise awareness for congenital heart disease. 1 in 110 children in the United States are born with congenital heart disease. All the children in this new “Heart Song” music video were born with it. Learn more about what it means to live heart strong at www.theheartstrong.com.
